RecruitRank Awards and Party 2010

I’m just back home after a mini tour. First stop was London where we held the 5th annual Recruitrank awards. Every year, 100’s of thousands of candidates participate in our Recruitrank system where they get the opportunity to rate recruitment companies in terms of their customer service. This feedback is provided to agencies confidentially and helps them plan changes for the future. It’s really great to be able to hold a truly independently judged awards ceremony and to celebrate the excellent high levels of customer support in our industry. The evening kicked off at Grace, Piccadilly with drinks and canapes. The food was absolutely excellent. At 7:45, our host, my good friend, David Hurst from Online Recruitment magazine kicked off the formal proceedings and I joined him on stage to announce the winners. There were lots of categories and therefore lots of winners but overall best agency was awarded to Kensington Consultancy who, by all accounts, are doing an amazing job keeping the candidates happy. For the winners and photos do visit our website at A quick stayover at a London hotel and then I was off to Heathrow boarding a BA flight to Aberdeen to meet with our brilliant team at We were treated to some fantastic hospitality on Wednesday night where the whole team came out to “Simpsons”, a rather chic bar/restaurant next door but one to Malmaison where we were staying. We had a morning meeting with the entire team this morning and then it was back on a flight (smaller this time) to Southampton. I can honestly say that due to the winds which were the worst I have ever experienced, it was with some relief when the pilot wrestled the aircraft to a controlled position on the runway. What a flight…we were home. Next week we are flying off to Hungary to join our Central Eastern Europe job board teams for our quarterly meet up. Can’t wait.
